Certifications and quality: the dedicated office for a rapidly evolving market
Increasingly strict regulations, demanding international markets, customers looking for reliable partners to grow. In this scenario, Tresoldi Metalli has chosen to take an important step: to structure a dedicated quality and certifications office: a concrete investment to better respond to the needs of those who work every day with the company’s products, both in the industrial sector and in the construction one. Gianluca Zenari as Quality Manager, Elisa Fornasiero as Coordinator of the Quality Management System and Certifications, Alessandra Bergami in charge of back-office activities related to product certifications: the Tresoldi office comprises different figures and professionals. We talked about it with the coordinator of the Quality Management System, who told us about its structure, objectives and above all the advantages for the customer.
From certifications on request to a complete service
Until a few years ago, the product was at the centre of the Tresoldi offering, while certifications were only sent when the customer expressly requested them for the individual supply. “Today – explains Elisa Fornasiero – the scenario has completely changed. Now, to all customers who express the need to receive the relevant product certifications for each shipment, we send all the requested certifications, together with the shipment of the material. This is a change that arises from listening to the market: on the one hand, regulations are increasingly demanding, on the other, customers have understood that presenting themselves with complete certifications means having a concrete added value capable of differentiating their commercial proposal.”
ISO 9001: a solid basis to grow together
The recent achievement of ISO 9001 certification represents a fundamental milestone for Tresoldi. “It is a basic certification for most of our customers, both in the industrial and construction fields – underlines Fornasiero – but it is not only a response to market demands: internally it has made it possible to improve and standardise many processes, creating the foundations for obtaining other certifications in the future too.”
When guarantees simplify the customer’s operations
The advantage for customers is immediate and concrete. In the past, those who needed the guarantee of interacting with a structured organisation, oriented towards quality and focused on customer satisfaction, had to carry out audits and inspections directly at the Tresoldi premises. “Today the guarantee that the Tresoldi Company and its products meet specific requirements is ensured by the fact that Tresoldi has a certified Quality Management System”, explains Fornasiero. “This means buying from certified suppliers, having complete product traceability and the certainty that it has been processed by carrying out all the process controls required by the regulations. The customer thus saves time and resources, increases the added value of their products and manages to expand their market.”
Product certifications: an articulated and evolving world
Alongside system certifications there are also product certifications. This is an articulated and continuously expanding field, which requires specific skills and constant updating. “Product certifications are numerous and very diversified from one another. They can include suitability for food contact for laminates intended for the household-appliance industry – extraction hoods or coffee machines – but also specific certifications required by the international markets on which Tresoldi operates ever more frequently, such as Proposition 65 for the American market, which aims to protect drinking-water sources from contamination by toxic chemicals.”
From industry to green construction: certifications as a strategic opportunity
In the construction sector too, product certifications have become increasingly strategic: suffice it to think that certifying the presence of recycled material in marketed products is today essential to obtain the green certifications in the field of public construction and access tax relief.
